Training
Take Your Professional IFS & Parts Work to the Next Level
Who This Is For
I offer educational cohorts for therapists & allied practitioners who want to improve their delivery of parts work to their clients. Only cursory knowledge of IFS / parts work is expected. These groups are ideal for relative beginners who are already seeing success with parts language in client sessions and want to take their skills to the next level.
Covered topics will include:
- Understanding parts theory
- Identifying & mapping managers, firefighters, and exiles
- Learning how to talk to different types of parts
- Helping clients unblend and relate to their parts
- Unblending from our own parts during client sessions
- Direct Access (working with parts that won’t or can’t unblend)
- A brief introduction to legacy / ancestral work
Logistics
We will meet for 90-minute sessions on alternating Fridays from 4:15pm – 5:45pm Eastern via Zoom on the following dates:
March 14 & 28
April 11 & 25
May 9 & 23
This will be a closed group; individuals cannot join after the start date.
Price: $600 total
What You'll Experience
Didactic Teaching
We will have brief presentations on key concepts and materials in order to ensure understanding of key concepts. Members are welcome to submit requests for specific topics to discuss during teachings.
Experiential Learning
Everyone will have the opportunity to conduct live IFS sessions with fellow participants while I supervise and offer input. All experiential sessions will be followed by a group debrief so everyone can process and learn together.
Case Consultation Opportunities
Participants will have periodic opportunities to bring case consultations to the group for collective input and processing. Turn theory into action by taking your learning immediately into your work.
Live Q&A
Have a burning question about a specific part of IFS? Curious about how to best engage with parts that frequently frustrate practitioners? Bring them all. If I can’t give an answer I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction.

What about the healing steps?"
While the healing steps (aka “unburdenings”) are a vital part of IFS and parts work, they go beyond the scope of this learning cohort. Our aim is to help individuals master fundamental skills, skills which must be solid before attempting healing work. I hope to provide group training on unburdenings in the future. However, individuals are welcome to contact me regarding private training in this area.
My IFS Background
While I use multiple modalities with clients, IFS has become my tool of choice.
I’m certified Level 3 trained in IFS which is the highest degree of official training possible. During the time of my training both therapists and practitioners recieved the exact same training. My lead trainers in respective order were Paul Ginter, Pam Krause, and Dick Schwartz. I’ve done significant additional training, especially around shame, working with difficult protectors, legacy & ancestral work, somatic work, spiritual burdens, and medical conditions. My caseload has historically focused on working with men who struggle with high shame and self-criticism, those with recent immigration history (especially from East Asia, Europe, and the Middle East), and individuals with legacy / ancestral / inter-generational wounding. I also specialize in working with Unattached Burdens.
I have been an IFS client for the same amount of time as I’ve been a practitioner and can speak to its efficacy both personally and professionally. If you have any further questions about myself or this work please don’t hesitate to ask.
